Artist

Alice Philips is a fabric artist, working primarily in feltmaking.  She creates wearable abstract landscape in the form of coats, vests and hats, as well as carpets, hangings, screens and sculpture.

Alice uses a variety of raw wools which are selected for their felting characteristics, texture and wearability.  They are hand-dyed to provide a wide palette range, and are then hand-felted by layering and building up colour and texture to realize the intended design.

Alice is a resident of Vancouver, British Columbia, and works and teaches out of her home studio.
